USS Leahy Planning Committee
|
SHIPMATES,
As we draw near to our Reunion, your Planning Committee is starting to receive
questions as to whether the Reunion will take place.
The simple answer is we don't know. At this time we are moving forward with plans and hoping for the best. But,
as we all know things can change overnight. We don't have any control over that.
Gatlinburg and Sevier County and the State of Tennessee are not locked down as of this morning. Our hotel and the
restaurant we plan to use have no mandates in place and both are looking forward to our arrival. The Trolley system
requires masks. You can monitor that online to help you make any decisions about attending. Our POD hasn't changed.
The Members of the Committee are planning to attend as individuals unless there are drastic changes. "Drastic"
means different things to different people. Again, your circumstances, your decision.
One thing we cannot, and will not do, is put any rules or stipulations of any kind on attendees. By that we mean,
wear a mask, don't wear a mask, have a shot card, don't have a shot card. We have opinions but no demands. We believe
that is the right way. Come if you wish. That is all we can say at this time. Feel free to contact us. God bless
us all. Pray for the health and safety of all our Shipmates...
