William John McGuire, 58, of Nutley died on Friday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville. The funeral will be on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, (swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley, with a Funeral Mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley, at 9:30 a.m. The interment will be private. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Born in Newark, Mr. McGuire was raised in Belleville before moving to Nutley 18 years ago. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served on the USS Leahy as a Machinist Mate from 1970 to 1974, and the USS Coronado and USS Butte from 1979 to 1985. Mr. McGuire was a supervisor for L&R Manufacturing Co., Kearny. The son of the late Mary Gorman and William Joseph McGuire, he is survived by his beloved wife, Philomena (Lorenzo) McGuire; his children, Kimberly and William McGuire, and his sister, Mary Varuolo. He was also predeceased by his sister, Patricia Malhosky, and his mother and father-in-law, Ann and Thomas De Lorenzo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Nutley Volunteer Emergency & Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 172, Nutley, N.J. 07110, would be appreciated.
