My name is ET1 Ralph Williams, I was aboard the Leahy as ET2 from 8/1983 (right after El Salvador)
to 1/87 in OE Division..
I am serving with CJTF-7 at Camp Victory, Iraq. I am doing comms relay for the Navy air assetts/Marine and Army
ground forces in the area. I'll be back home (Jacksonville, FL) in December 2004 (end of active duty-start of active
reserves). I got discharged as ET2 from the Navy in 1987, and joined the Reserves in 2001 right after the USS Cole
bombing. I volunteered for this recall and it's been very rewarding ( I also served with the USS Cole after she
was repaired, which was a big motivation for me to rejoin).
Thanks for the Great Site!

NOTES:
Ralph
with former president George Bush
Here is a picture of my Det. I am on the
far left, its a great pic that shows even on the ground, the Navy is in Iraq; this pic is in front of the former Al-Faw palace taken 08-2004. The NY times said that Saddam
Hussein is imprisoned on this base (I wouldn't know). I've also gone to Fallujah to work with the Marines up close
there.
An additional photo of Ralph appears on Ed Crean's
photo page (bottom photo) at:

Ralph has returned to the Mideast and is presently
stationed in Kuwait as of May 2006.
